Scotland's Energy Transition Showcase *NEW for 2024* Programme

We are delighted to bring a different style of presentation to you as part of this exciting new conference. Our 'Spotlight Talks' will tackle three key aspects of Scotland's energy transition journey and success in deploying renewable generation across a number of different technologies.

1430 - Spotlight talk 1

Our first spotlight will be delivered by Kerry MacPhee and will focus on renewable energy and its relationship to people and communities. As Community Liaison Officer with EDF Renewables, Kerry will bring her experience and expertise in engaging with communities to ensure that they are part of the unique story we have to tell here in Scotland about how our energy system is changing.  

1530 - Spotlight talk 2

A second spotlight will come from Alexander Holt, a global pioneer of innovation and public entrepreneurship. Fresh from COP28 he specialises in developing opportunities for collaboration and excellence between the public and private sector, both nationally and globally. In this lightning talk he will focus on policy and collaboration in the context of the forthcoming Green Industrial Strategy for Scotland. He will offer insights into how we can use the energy transition as an economic opportunity which will truly set Scotland apart in the global race to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change. To maximise this opportunity, government needs to engage with industry. “Towards a Green Industrial Strategy” will outline the engagement around the forthcoming GIS and how members of Scottish Renewables can get involved.

1630 - Spotlight talk 3

The third spotlight will hear from renewables expert Scott Hamilton. Previously of Xodus, Scott is now Principal Consultant and Owner of GMC Ltd. Scott will provide an overview of the work done until now to build the Scottish renewable energy industry - as well as some lessons learned, and crucially what is required going forward to finish what we started.
