Collaborative Framework Agreement

The First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP has today (May 11) announced details of signatories to the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council's Collaborative Framework Charter

Responding, Emma Harrick, Energy Transition and Supply Chain Manager at Scottish Renewables, said:

“Today’s announcement of the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council’s (SOWEC) Collaborative Framework Charter signatories demonstrates the commitment of the ScotWind project developers in working collaboratively for the benefit of Scotland’s ports and suppliers.

“With a short-term offshore wind pipeline of 6.9GW and 25GW of potential projects coming from the Crown Estate Scotland ScotWind Leasing round, as well as more to come through ScotWind clearing, the pipeline of opportunity arising from offshore wind in Scotland is enormous.

“There is a clear consensus in the industry that collaboration is crucial if we are to harness the economic benefits of these projects. The offshore wind activity to be delivered by 2030 is on a scale the country has never seen before and growing a capable local supplier network will be essential to successfully deploying the green energy we need to meet our net-zero goals.

"By signing the Collaborative Framework Charter developers have pledged to work together to enable the success of Scottish companies aspiring to work in offshore wind and to support the fundamental work to deliver significant supply chain growth which must start now. Scottish Renewables welcomes this announcement, which evidences real progress on the SOWEC Strategic Investment Assessment recommendations and is a vital forward step for supply chain development in Scotland.”
