New Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

Responding to news that the UK Government has created a new Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, tasked with securing long-term energy supply, bringing down bills and halving inflation;

Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, said:

“Linking energy security and net-zero in the title of a new UK Government department sends a clear message about the direction of travel of our industry: renewable energy is not only the centre of our fight against climate change but also of our economy, with billions of pounds of investment being made in the UK every month.

“The new Department for Energy Security and Net Zero will rightly focus on securing and integrating affordable, home-grown, clean energy for the UK, and renewable energy has the power and the projects to do just that.”
