Heat Networks Bill laid before Scottish Parliament
Responding to news that the Scottish Government's Heat Networks Bill has been laid before Parliament, Fabrice Leveque, Senior Policy Manager at Scottish Renewables, said:
"This draft Bill is a crucial step on the road to net-zero climate emissions for Scotland. Its implementation will make it easier to build heat networks in our city centres, delivering renewable heat from the air, ground and sewers directly to homes and offices via a network of hot water pipes, either under or above ground.
"Heat networks are a tried and tested technology that can deliver more efficient and lower-cost heating, and we welcome proposals in the Bill to introduce licensing to harmonise standards across the industry.
"We look forward to working with all parties in the Scottish Parliament to support the passage of this important legislation."
