Launch of Scottish Government Green Investment Portfolio
Scottish Renewables worked with The Scottish Government to bring together a portfoilo of green energy projects which are ready for investment. It launched on September 9.
Responding, Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, said:
“Our ambitious net-zero target means the Scottish renewable energy sector presents enormous opportunity for inward investment. We were pleased to work on behalf of industry with The Scottish Government on the preparation of the Green Investment Portfolio which is launched today, and look forward to further work as the portfolio develops.
“Scotland's renewable energy sector has more than two decades’ of experience in decarbonising an economy’s electricity supply while maintaining growth, and the export opportunities presented by the skills and technologies developed in that process are enormous.
“As the rest of the world seeks to accelerate its transition to a clean energy system it is right that those skills and technologies are at the forefront of the global fight against climate change. With industry and government working closely together we can ensure that the economic benefits derived from our industry’s exports are felt across Scotland.”
