Shortlist announced for prestigious Scottish Green Energy Awards
The Scottish Green Energy Awards has today (Oct 17) announced the shortlist for the UK’s largest and most prestigious celebration of the renewable energy industry.
This year’s awards, headline sponsored by EDF Renewables UK, will bring together an unprecedented number of guests to recognise and honour the achievements of those whose revolutionary work is securing Scotland’s future prosperity.
Wind, low-carbon heat and hydro projects feature on this year’s shortlist along with community hubs and individuals nominated by their peers.
The Scottish Green Energy Awards, run by leading industry body Scottish Renewables, are an annual celebration of the organisations, people and projects shaping Scotland’s clean energy future.
The awards see more than 50 individuals, companies and projects contest to scoop prizes in 14 prestigious categories at a 1,700-guest ceremony on December 5 in Edinburgh.

The full shortlist – available at the end of this press release – includes projects, people and organisations from Dumfries, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Lewis and Harris, Montrose and the Shetland Islands among many other regions.
Some examples from the shortlist include:
- SSE Renewables, shortlisted for the Outstanding Project Award, for its 103-turbine Viking Wind Farm, which is producing enough energy to power almost half a million homes while saving around 0.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
- Aurora Energy Services, shortlisted for the Contribution to Skills Award, has invested £1.2 million to establish a bespoke renewable energy training centre in Inverness which has delivered 1,600 modules in its first year and will train 2,000 workers annually to support Scotland’s energy transition.
- Forth Ports, shortlisted for the Outstanding Service Award, is Scotland’s largest port operator and is delivering an offshore wind, multi-port infrastructure strategy which is solving the UK port capacity challenges, will provide a significant contribution to supply chain development and will help deliver the UK’s offshore wind ambitions.
- Kudo, shortlisted for the Best Innovation – Software and Services Award, has developed an innovative mobile site access and induction app which offers real-time visibility and reporting across remote sites, enhancing safety, compliance and operational efficiency.
